Auspicious Date Selection
Wedding Date
Selection
Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life. In Chinese tradition, the choice of date is a gift you give your marriage — a careful, considered beginning.
"I have helped hundreds of couples choose their wedding date over the years. The most common response when I share the recommended options is: 'That date just feels right.' That is the harmony they are sensing."
For Couples Preparing to Marry
A Date That Honours Your Union
Wedding date selection is one of the most emotionally meaningful services offered at Ju Xuan. Master Lo approaches it with the care and sensitivity it deserves. Both the bride’s and groom’s Bazi charts are reviewed together, checking for compatibility with each candidate date and ensuring no clash or harm exists between the day’s energy and either chart.
The selection also avoids the three inauspicious periods in the Chinese calendar that are traditionally observed — ensuring the date is clean on multiple levels, not just energetically but also culturally.
For couples whose venues and families require specific months or weekends, Master Lo works within those constraints to identify the best available options.
What Is Considered
Both partners' birth charts reviewed — clash and harm combinations avoided for both the bride and groom.
Inauspicious calendar periods avoided — traditional observances respected, ensuring cultural and energetic alignment.
Practical constraints accommodated — venue availability, family requirements, and budget considerations worked into the selection.
Auspicious wedding time — the timing of the tea ceremony or key exchange is also selected where possible.
Begin Your Marriage With Clarity
A wedding date selection is one of the most meaningful gifts you can give a marriage. It is also one of the most requested services at Ju Xuan. Book early — popular months fill quickly.

Wedding Date Selection — FAQ
As early as possible — ideally 12 to 18 months before the intended wedding year. Popular months such as October and February in Chinese tradition fill quickly, and having a longer window gives Master Lo more dates to assess and gives you more options to work with. Late bookings can be accommodated, but may result in fewer suitable date choices within your preferred window.
This is a common practical reality. Master Lo works within your constraints — if you have a venue with limited availability, he assesses the calendar specifically within those gaps. He will be honest with you if no good option exists in a narrow window, and will present the trade-offs clearly so you can decide how to proceed.
Yes — both partners’ full birth dates and times (if known) are needed. The selection checks each candidate date against both charts simultaneously, ensuring the day carries no clash or harm for either person. A date that is excellent for one partner but problematic for the other would not be recommended.
Not necessarily from a metaphysical standpoint — the auspicious quality of a day is independent of whether it falls on a weekend or weekday. In practice, however, most couples request Saturday or Sunday dates, so there are simply fewer weekend days to assess within any given month. Master Lo works primarily with your preferred day-of-week constraints and identifies the best available options within those.
